The Wizards Cut Ties With A Player Arrested For Fighting An Eagles Player Outside A Club

DC police: Eagles’ Mills, Wiz’s Robinson arrested for fight

Mills and Robinson were in the middle of a verbal argument that turned into a fight on the sidewalk next to the Opera Night Club shortly before 3 a.m., according to an arrest report by the Metropolitan Police Department.

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Jalen Mills was arrested on Saturday morning following a fight outside the Opera Ultra Lounge nightclub in Washington D.C. with Devin Robinson, an National Basketball Association player most recently with the Washington Wizards.

According to The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane, Mills has since paid a $35 fine, with both players apparently warranting charges of disorderly affray. Robinson was taken to Sibley Hospital.

The Eagles issued a short statement Saturday afternoon: "The Philadelphia Eagles are aware of the situation involving defensive back Jalen Mills and are continuing to gather more information. We will not extend him a qualifying offer for the 2019-20 season", the release said. They said they will not comment further now.

Mills is set to go into his fourth season with the Eagles.

Robinson, who played in seven games this past season for the Wizards, went undrafted out of Florida in 2017, and was also with the Capital City Go-Go of the National Basketball Association G League this season. A starter on the 2017 Super Bowl LII championship team, Mills' 2018 campaign was cut short after eight games with a foot injury, one that ultimately required surgery.

Philadelphia drafted him out of LSU in the seventh round in 2016.
