Golf: Donald Trump says Tiger Woods to get Presidential Medal of Freedom

Per The Conversation, the Medal of Freedom was established under former President John F. Kennedy, to "recognize who has made an especially meritorious contribution to" the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, or cultural or other significant endeavors.

Donald Trump is giving his good friend Tiger Woods one of this nation's highest honors following his victory at the 2019 Masters: The Presidential Medal of Freedom.

The win yesterday is already being considered one of the greatest comeback stories in sports ever as Woods career was rumored to be over just two years ago thanks to nagging knee and back injuries. The gap between his first Masters win and Sunday's victory was the longest in tournament history.

Trump, an avid golfer, was photographed on the green in Florida with Woods and pro-golfer Jack Nicklaus in February.
