There's plenty to be excited about ahead of the streaming service's November launch and Disney promises that it will rapidly expand globally following its US debut.
One of the biggest bits of content that will be available to Disney+ subscribers is all 30 seasons of The Simpsons, something Netflix users have been requesting for some time.
Other original content will include the National Geographic docuseries The World According to Jeff Goldbum; Monsters at Work, an animated spinoff of Monsters, Inc.; Be Our Chef, a Disney-themed cooking competition program; and Lady and the Tramp, a retelling of the 1955 animated classic.
But the Disney+ series' connections to the MCU won't only be grounded in the realm of hard set realities.
Disney's announcements of its streaming service's full lineup and features included the official unveiling of numerous long-rumored series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, featuring some of the most popular Avengers in their own solo (or paired) TV series.
Disney stressed plans to use its coveted content, and original creations to come, to differentiate itself in the increasingly competitive streaming television market.
Disney+ will also be available on a wide range of mobile and connected devices, including gaming consoles, streaming media players and smart TVs. However, that show is apparently going to be called WandaVision.
Davis singles to end record hitless streak
Not only was it a hit, it was a two-run single! The crowd cheered for Davis as well as his teammates in the dugout. The fortuitous moment arrived in the first inning of the Orioles-Red Sox game on Saturday.
But John Meyer, an analyst and Transpire Ventures partner said he strongly believes Disney will not become a threat to Netflix.
"Netflix now knows what people want more than anybody", Meyer said.
An anthological documentary series from Marvel New Media in partnership with Supper Club that explores the intersection between Marvel's rich legacy of stories, characters and creators and the world outside your window.
With Hollywood stars galore, Apple last month unveiled its streaming video plans along with news and game subscription offerings as part of an effort to shift its focus to digital content and services to break free of its reliance on iPhone sales.
"We wonder how the company will explain what is and is not available on Disney+ both domestically and overseas", Greenfield said in a research note. It will be available when the service launches.
Also gearing up for streaming launches are: WarnerMedia, which owns studio Warner Bros (Lord of the Rings, The Lego Movie), HBO, and the rights to Netflix's biggest show, Friends; and Comcast's NBC Universal, owner of the USA version of The Office - another Netflix hit - as well as Jurassic World and Fast and Furious maker Universal.
