Google Cloud launches new Anthos open platform

Google today unveiled a handful of new cloud services created to simplify common tasks in the data analytics workflow, including a beta of a new data integration and ETL service called Cloud Data Fusion, the capability to leverage BitQuery from a spreadsheet interface, and the addition of Tensorflow machine learning capabilities to BigQuery ML, among others.

Reports cite, the seven new partnerships were announced at the ongoing annual Google Cloud Next event that is being held in San Francisco at the George R. Moscone Convention Center.

Google Cloud also announced the beta release of its new "connected sheets" functionality in Google Sheets, its spreadsheet offering.

On a mission to help people shift to the cloud by using the best infrastructure, Google has also upgraded its technology in the past year. Retailers can now manage ESP, triggers and personalization from a single interface, enabling them to personalize 100% of their campaigns for the first time ever. Customers can find what they want instantly, and experience less friction in the product search and purchase process.

Susan Standiford, CTO at IKEA Group, notes that the company worked with Google Cloud to create a new mobile experience that enables customers to take photos of home furnishings and household items and quickly find that product or a similar one in the online catalogue.

As part of this partnership, migVisor, an automatic database cloud migration assessment product, will be made available on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Marketplace, allowing customers to accelerate and simplify their migration from existing Oracle databases to Google Cloud SQL. The financial terms of the seven new partnerships have not been unveiled yet.
