Trump says he has not seen or read Mueller's Russian Federation probe report

William Barr forms team to review FBI’s actions in Trump probe

Atty. Gen. William Barr appears before a House Appropriations subcommittee Tuesday

"I have an obligation to make sure government power is not abused", Barr added. Data has shown that most drugs along the southwest border come through official ports of entry. Yes, I think spying did occur.

"I need to explore that ..."

Barr said the White House did not review his letter to Congress laying out Mueller's findings before he sent it. "I'm not talking about the Federal Bureau of Investigation necessarily, but intelligence agencies more broadly", Barr said.

According to Barr's memo of Mueller's report on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, the special counsel did not exonerate Trump from committing the crime of obstruction. The bureau used confidential informants and relied heavily on the Democrat-funded Steele dossier as part of the investigation, which was code-named Crossfire Hurricane.

President Donald Trump is declaring that he wants an investigation into the origins of the federal probe into ties between his campaign and Russian Federation. Halper, a former Cambridge professor, made contact with at least three Trump campaign advisers, Carter Page, Sam Clovis and George Papadopoulos.

Barr said that he plans to form a team to gather information from the Justice Department and Capitol Hill related to the FBI's investigation, which was formally opened on July 31, 2016.

"I'm not suggesting that those rules were violated, but I think it's important to look at that", Barr said.

Elaborating on an earlier statement that he is assembling a team to investigate anti-Trump bias in the FBI's 2016 probe into the Trump campaign, Barr told a Senate appropriations subcommittee on Wednesday that he believes "spying did occur", and will investigate whether that surveillance was "predicated".

At the Senate hearing began, Barr said he was going to to do as he promised in his confirmation hearings and "be as transparent as possible".

Democrats say they will not accept redactions and want the full report's release.
