Patriots scouts present to see Kyler Murray throw at Oklahoma pro day

While Oklahoma's other pro hopefuls went through the typical pro day drills, Murray stayed out of everything until it was time to throw passes in the afternoon - about four hours later.

In the most anticipated pro day workout ahead of April's 2019 National Football League draft, potential No. 1 overall pick Kyler Murray impressed scouts on hand.

The Sooners clearly set Murray up for success, holding the throwing session indoors and keeping Murray stationary in the pocket, but he made the most of his audition.

"I felt awesome leaving the combine", he said.

NFL Network's Charley Casserly, a former executive with the Washington Redskins and Houston Texans, last month said Murray fared poorly during interviews at the NFL scouting combine.

He also ranks second all-time on Miami's career passer rating list, behind only Pennington (94.5) and ahead of Dan Marino (86.4). He'll become the backup to Titans starter Marcus Mariota , who missed time during the 2018 season with a shoulder issue.

Murray said he would have expected to run something in the 4.3-second range. "I thought every meeting I had went well". "At least to my face, no one was negative".

Oklahoma quarterback prospect Kyler Murray's height measurement at the NFL Draft Combine two weeks ago no doubt helped his draft stock. Murray declined to be measured again Wednesday, but weighed in at 205 pounds. "It was a great experience". I just don't think it's necessary for me. NY will be taking a hard look at quarterback this draft, with Eli Manning being 38 years old and in the final year of his contract. "I didn't want to pull anything before I got the chance to throw".

"Quarterbacks come in all shapes and sizes", said Shurmur.

Mayfield solidified his spot at No. 1 following Oklahoma's pro day a year ago. "I think I showed everybody I can do that".
