The Green Bay Packers are revamping their defence in free agency. Smith had a breakout season in 2018, racking up 8.5 sacks and 60 quarterback pressures. Randall Cobb, whose United Kingdom career preceded Smith's by a couple of years, also becomes a free agent this offseason and reportedly the Packers will let him test the market. He totaled 119 tackles and 18.5 sacks.

They're out here making deals in the legal negotiating window, and big ones at that.

The Packers are expected to pay Smith like an elite rusher.

Amos spent four seasons with the Bears.

The Green Bay Packers missed the 2018 National Football League playoffs, failing to reach the postseason for the second straight year. Amos is just 25 years old, and was drastically more affordable than Landon Collins on the open market.

But considering it's only done after all other fixes have failed, recovering from one may still be a very time-consuming process. Updates to Windows are supposed to fix problems and improve security, but sometimes they do the opposite.

Amos agreed to a $37 million, four-year contract, according to a person with knowledge of the move. In seven seasons with the Packers, he started 48 of 81 regular-season games played and registered 259 tackles (173 solo), 32 sacks, an interception, seven forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and 14 passes defensed. Schefter also reports that the Packers are signing Washington LB Preston Smith to a four-year deal worth $52 million.

The people spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the contracts can not become official until the new league year opens Wednesday.

The former third-round pick out of North Dakota State is trading his orange and blue for green and gold, the colors he had so much success with in college. Unless Rodgers suffers a major injury, this team isn't going to ever be picking at or near the top of the draft, but as we've seen, they can get stuck in draft purgatory as well.

The Chicago Bears took their first big hit of free agency Tuesday.
