James Dolan Ejected A Knicks Fan Who Said He Should Sell The Team

"Our policy is and will continue to be that if you are disrespectful to anyone in our venues, we will ask you not to return", the Madison Square Garden Company said in a statement.

If the Knicks want to attract elite free agents in the offseason, they'll have to overcome a dismal reputation born of almost 20 years of losing, as well as at least some players' potential worries about dealing with the ny media.

Writer and marketing consultant Chris Matyszczyk opined at Inc.com that the Knicks' owner provided "a deep lesson in how (not) to treat a disgruntled customer", saying, "Dolan could have - even politely - told the fan he's working every day to try and make things better".

James Dolan's notoriously lousy ownership of the Knicks added another ugly chapter over the weekend. Dolan asked the fan if he wanted to come to any more games, called him "rude", and told him to "enjoy watching them on TV". Dolan will likely be at the helm for the next era of Knicks basketball, unless the fan here gets his wish.

Dolan then pointed towards the fan while nodding to the security, who asked for the fan to be held and questioned before instructing him to leave.

During the Knicks' latest loss, a 102-94 home defeat to the visiting Sacramento Kings on Saturday afternoon, a fan shouted at Dolan to "sell the team" as the owner was making his way into the tunnel. It's also off-court incidents like his feud with a fan, a similar one involving former Knick Charles Oakley in 2017, and a third with Ethan Hawke that have stained Dolan's reign at MSG.

"You think I should sell the team?"

He was later charged with two misdemeanor counts of assault, one misdemeanor count of aggravated harassment, and one misdemeanor count of trespassing.

Oakley wasn't having it from Dolan. At a record of 13-54, the team sits in last place in both the Eastern Conference and the entire league.

Upset by the fan verbalizing the sentiments of many Knicks fans, Dolan had the man escorted from the arena and is apparently banning him from future games.
