To celebrate a decade of 10-cylinder brute force and an enormous trophy case of motorsport victories, Audi's prepared the R8 V10 Decennium to launch with the next-generation coupe later this year. Today, Audi honors the a decade of the V-10 with a new special edition vehicle: the R8 V10 Decennium.
Power comes from an unchanged naturally aspirated 5,2-litre V10 petrol engine, which makes the full-fat 456 kW and 580 N.m. In 2009, the 5.2-liter was good for 525 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque. The V-10 has arguably become the sports car's calling card. The 2019 R8 Decennium is offered only as a coupe and features a special Daytona Gray matte exterior color paired with bronze accents. It packs the same updates as the rest of the R8 lineup, including a remodeled nose and a fancy new rear diffuser, but the Decennium adds to that with a special matte gray paint job.
Available exclusively as a coupe, the R8 V10 Decennium looks special from the get-go, thanks to its exclusive Daytona Gray paint finish and the milled matte-bronze 20-inch wheels.
Ten dead as Al-Shabaab fighters battle in Somalia siege
The death toll from an Al Shabaab suicide auto bombing at a Mogadishu hotel rose to 29 with 80 wounded, police said on Friday. It targeted a hotel frequented by the members of the apostate government.
Side blades and the mirror housings are carbon fiber. The contrasting stitching is copper-colored on the seats, dash and elsewhere.
Inside the special edition gets black upholstery offset by carbon-fibre and copper trim and stitching, as well as a copper 12 o'clock-stripe on the steering wheel. Finally, Decennium logos adorn the center console and doors, and the same logo is projected on the ground from the puddle lights when the driver or passenger opens the doors. Just 222 examples will be built worldwide, making it a very tricky beast to track down. If U.S. prices match European prices, the R8 Decennium would sell for $252,000 here based on current exchange rates.
