Originally released for the Game Boy™ system more than 25 years ago, one of the most beloved games in the Legend of Zelda series returns. There had been whispers of a 2D Zelda along with the Mario Maker sequel, and a couple of other rumours turned out to be true, with BOXBOY! Many speculated what might be released, but it took a real genius to think that we were going to get a Tetris battle royale.

Users that purchase Nintendo Online, a monthly subscription service that lets you play Mario Tennis, Splatoon 2 and Super Smash Bros.

In fact, more than seven million courses were created by players by May 2016, and they were played over 600 million times. It's called Tetris 99, and as of right now you can get it on Nintendo Switch for free, provided you're a Nintendo Switch Online subscriber. The art style is strikingly different from anything we've seen in The Legend of Zelda series before, and it's nearly cartoony in a way.

The February 13 Nintendo Direct presentation revealed an array of new exciting titles.

When will Super Mario Maker 2 be released?

Super Mario Maker doesn't now appear in Nintendo's list of Switch Games which will be coming soon.

However, the list doesn't go past April 2019, so there is still hope - we expect these listings to be updated later today. The game is under a gigabyte in size so it should only take a few minutes to download.
