Whether this means Smith's genie is capable of un-blueing himself by shape-shifting remains to be seen.

Disney released a new trailer for their upcoming live-action adaptation of Aladdin at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards.

"Bring me the lamp", he orders, his loyal pet parrot perched - silently for now - on his shoulder.

Fans were treated to their first glance of Will Smith as the blue-skinned Genie, the role made famous in the 1992 animated version by Robin Williams. "Genie? Wishes? Lamp? None of that ringin' a bell?"

Snowstorm Buries Pacific Northwest, With More on the Way
Sunday's winter storm is expected to bring an additional 1-4 inches of snow to an already icy western Washington. In Tualatin, Ore., resident Autumn Sang was mobbed during a visit to a grocery store to stock up on supplies.

In December, Smith reassured fans that "I'm gonna be BLUE!" after an Entertainment Weekly cover showed him in costume in human form.

"I told y'all I was gon' be Blue!" he wrote in his caption.

There's plenty more goosebump-inducing moments in the one minute clip, including the "do you trust me?" meeting of hands before Aladdin and Jasmine go over sideways and under on their Whole New World magic carpet ride.

Alongside Smith, "Power Rangers" star Naomi Scott stars as Princess Jasmine and Canadian actor Mena Massoud stars as Aladdin. Aladdin follows on the heels of other Disney films that have taken on the line action approach, with varying degrees of success, such as Maleficent, Beauty and the Beast and The Jungle Book.
