We'll be mostly dry for the early portion of your Friday, but wet weather is returning to Northern California today.

Forecasters say Boise will get 1 to 3 inches of snow during the three-day storm, while the Foothills are expected to get 4 to 5 inches.

"The mountains are going to get 48 hours of more or less continuous snow", Weather Service meteorologist Steven Parker told the Statesman on Thursday afternoon.

Another round of snow hit Washington state this week, leaving officials scrambling to get people off the streets and the governor declaring a state of emergency.

Seattle has a website dedicated to the snow storm with information on the city's response.

The National Weather Service's update on the expected snow fall in Seattle and the surrounding areas. Higher elevation areas such as the Teton Valley, the Snake River Highlands, or near Island Park might see between 6 and 12 inches of snow.

Snow was tapering off in western Washington by mid-morning Saturday, but enjoy the quick break before another system moves in.

"There's a potential for more snow next week", Parker said. "I encourage everyone to stay off the roads if possible and plan ahead if you must travel".

Seattle Weather Blog reports that Seattle woke up Saturday to its biggest February storm since 1962.

The Seattle Police Department tweeted that additional resources have been dedicated to getting the homeless community to warm shelters.

The winds expected to accompany the storm could cause issues with blowing snow, as well as downed power lines and trees. This snow is likely to stick around with temperatures dipping as low as 10 in Olympia over the weekend, and highs just reaching the freezing point.

Those temperatures, combined with the wind, could make it feel like it's in the teens Saturday across the Seattle region.
