Health officials in B.C. say this year's flu vaccine has been particularly effective. Stamford's Director of Health Dr. Jennifer Calder encourages persons who have not been vaccinated to get themselves and their family members vaccinated.

"We're wanting people to be aware of the things they can do to prevent themselves from becoming ill, and the vaccine is a good way to do that", Pedati said.
