LG Display declares war on motion blur with big screen OLED panels

CES 2019: LG Announces Signature OLED TV R - A Rollable TV

"LG has created a TV with a display that uses revolutionary flexible screen technology that allows the screen to roll up and roll back out when needed", said LG.

LG say that "in addition to content source detection, the new processor finely adjusts the tone mapping curve in accordance with ambient conditions to offer optimized screen brightness, leveraging its ability to understand how the human eye perceives images in different lighting". Each of the company's ThinQ TVs will now come with both on-board Google Assistant and built-in Amazon Alexa.

Line View allows the LG SIGNATURE OLED TV R to be partially unrolled, allowing for management of specific tasks that do not require the full TV screen. "The panel is of 65" dimensions - we now don't have any more information about the technical specifcations of the panel, other than it is seemingly powered by LG's newly announced second generation Alpha9 SoC. The set features full 4K Ultra HD resolution with support for High Dynamic Range (HDR) and a 4.2 channel sound bar with 100 watts of peak output. Also, the company not only confirmed the "Signature OLED TV R" the product name for the 65-inch roll-up TV, but also revealed that it will be available for purchase later this year.

With the introduction of last year's LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W, LG stripped away the traditional concept of a TV, focusing on the simplicity of the screen. This TV "reimagines space" and "addresses the human need for an aesthetically pleasing environment", LG's USA senior director of product marketing Tim Alessi told the audience this morning.

Led coalition says Syria withdrawal has begun
But the Baghdad-based official did not give details and it is unclear how many vehicles or troop units had been withdrawn. Top U.S. officials were shocked too, among them Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, who quit in protest.

The company newest TVs will also have support for Apple's AirPlay 2 and Apple HomeKit meaning users can Mirror their TV with their Apple devices such as their iPhone, iPad or MacBook.

Nonetheless, up close the picture quality of the LG model is spectacular.

There's also a mode LG calls "Line Mode" where the display will drop down so that only about one-fourth of the panel is showing to control on-screen music controls and home gadget apps.

Samsung has also announced it will support AirPlay 2, as well as having its own native iTunes app on its 2019 and 2018 TV models.
