AMD Announces Ryzen 3000 Series Mobile Processors for CES 2019

Asus Chromebook range refresh adds Chrome OS tablet alongside new models

Asus reveals new Chromebooks and Chrome OS tablet ahead of CES

Semiconductor company AMD has unveiled latest processors for its mobility line-up, including the 2nd-generation Ryzen 3000 Series Mobile, which are the world's fastest processor for ultra-thin laptops. Acer and HP are first out of the gate with their respective AMD-powered Chromebooks although additional offerings from other competitors haven't been ruled out.

There's still more to explore with the newest HP Chromebook 14 and how well the AMD's new A-series does with Chrome OS, but we won't have to wait as long for it as we will for the Acer Chromebook 315. The company says the new chips are good enough for productivity-focused tasks such as media editing and web surfing. The CT100 will be a new tablet form-factor for Asus, following the lead of the Google Pixel Slate, and feature a 9.7-inch QXGA wide-angle touch display to compete against the iPad.

Only one word to say, I'm proud. 'You can see that hunger and that passion to win for India . 'They take ownership of their skills.

The Chromebook C403, on the other hand, has the same design as the C204 but features a 14-inch display. Asus says that the new models will be available in the coming months with configurations and pricing to be announced nearer the time. The rubberized chassis here is less than 10 mm thick, so it's easier for small hands to grasp. (Asus is hoping the raised rubber rail on the bottom makes it easier to hold and subsequently even less likely to be dropped in the first place). Currently, the Chromebook market is controlled primarily by Intel's chips.

You also get two USB Type-C Gen 1 ports - one on each side of the laptop - and 802.11ac Wi-Fi with 2x2 MIMO technology, Bluetooth 4.2, dual USB 3.0 ports and a combination audio jack. Beside those is a full-size keyboard that ships with backlighting as a standard feature while the edge houses two USB 3.1 Type-C charging ports pulling double duty as a means for data transfers and display-out capabilities. The 11.6-inch display also includes a 360-degree hinge, and there's also the option to include a stylus. The system is rated for up to 10 hours of battery life.
