Rohit Shetty confirms film about ‘Simmba’ character Sooryavanshi

Rohit Shetty's Simmba starring Sara Ali Khan and Ranveer Singh continues its golden run at the box office and is no hurry to slow down any time soon. The film is expected to reach Rs 200 crore by the end of the second week

Simmba (Simba) day 10 box office collection: Ranveer-Sara's film refuses to slow down on second Sunday

The film made about Rs 150.50 crore by the end of its first week, along with a 50% jump in collections on its second Saturday, according to trade website Box Office India, an impressive rise considering most of the first week was a holiday period. The melodramatic, high-octane actioner now stands with the total collection of Rs 190.64 crore. The film is just a few days away from Rs 200 crore mark. Emerges THIRD HIGHEST GROSSER of 2018, after #Sanju and #Padmaavat.

A Box Office India report stated that Simmba's lifetime collection is expected to be close to Rs 250 crore depending on how the film fares on the third and fourth week. Total: Rs 190.64 cr. The film grossed over Rs 20.72 crore on the day 1, making it Ranveer Singh's biggest opening movie to date. The movie did not fare well at the box office, following which Pooja had forayed into Tollywood, where she had a rather indifferent beginning with movies like Mukunda, Oka Laila Kosam ending as duds. Also, it is the second best Monday figures of 2018, after Sanju's 25.35 crores.

"Simmba" has been directed by Rohit Shetty and has been written by Yunus Sajawal and Sajid-Farhad.

Apart from Ranveer, the movie also stars Sara Ali Khan and Sonu Sood, who portrays the role of the antagonist in the cop drama and Ajay Devgn who has a cameo in Simmba.

It is the remake of 2015 released Telugu blockbuster "Temper".
