iTunes Movies and TV Shows app coming to 2018 and 2019 Samsung Smart TVs - news

The TVs will also include support for AirPlay 2, Apple's wireless streaming standard. Last year's Samsung Smart TV models will get these new features via a firmware update, while all 2019 models will come with them built in.

Samsung and Apple are competing companies, and it wasn't too long ago that the companies were going at it in lengthy legal battles. Regardless, this is a big win for Samsung TV owners. This will allow iPhone and iPad owners to stream their content directly to a Samsung TV without it needing to be plugged in to an Apple TV device (or directly via an HDMI cable). Samsung also noted that iTunes will work seamlessly with its onboard search, as well as with its Bixby AI assistant.

The Samsung iTunes deal follows on from the recent partnership with Amazon to bring Apple Music streaming to Amazon's Echo smart speakers.

AirPlay 2-Enabled TVs: Samsung may have been the first to announce support for AirPlay 2, but Apple's webpage indicates that the feature is coming to 'leading manufacturers, ' so expect more announcements at CES and beyond.

Paine dismisses bowling coach’s difference of opinion claim
We just have to play better than what we have. " Tim Paine speaking...", he started, much to the amusement of the press room. Can you babysit? I'll take the wife to the movies one night and you'll look after the kids".

In an industry first, Samsung Electronics announced today it will offer iTunes Movies and TV Shows as well as Apple AirPlay 2 support on 2019 Samsung Smart TV models from the first half of this year. Vizio also makes a point of noting that users will be able to use their iPhone or iPad to turn Vizio TVs on and off, adjust the volume, switch inputs, and even ask Siri to play select shows.

The adoption of the iTunes library of movies and TV shows gives Samsung TV users a new content delivery source, but most importantly, it gives Apple unprecedented access to a userbase of potential new customers for its service.

If you're an iTunes user on the lookout for a new TV, this is an exciting proposition - especially if you have lots of gizmos hooked up to your existing television.
