Today, the company is unveiling a new set of icons for Word, Excel PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, and various other components of the Office suite. The new icons will be rolled out to users in the coming months, starting with mobile and web apps. The new icons for Office 365 have been created to embrace the history of Office while giving them a "bolder, lighter and friendlier" look.

The letters that Microsoft uses for its Office apps are still there, but the background has been changed to something simpler - geometric shapes associated with the apps. Windows Fluent Design will be incorporated into the Office suite to match the over all look and feel of Windows 10.
