Queen invites Meghan's mum to spend Christmas with the royal family

Sources say the Monarch has made the "very thoughtful gesture" towards Ragland because she respects her so much. Per the Daily Mail's report, Doria has been invited to stay at Sandringham House in Norfolk, England for the duration of the royals' holiday festivities.

The Queen is said to have asked Doria, 62, to join them for the family's first Christmas since Harry and Meghan's wedding as a "mark of her respect" for the Duchess.

When the 92-year-old Monarch heard about it she told Doria she could come to Sandringham.

The source added: "Queen Elizabeth is very aware of all the problems Meghan has had with her dad and sister and she feels sorry for her that she doesn't have family and a support network close by".

Ragland previously attended an event to launch a cookbook Markle was involved in, and she was also the only member of Markle's family to attend her wedding to Prince Harry in May. But it turns out Meghan actually has a pretty adorable and unexpected relationship with her stepmother-in-law, the Duchess of Cornwall.

Miller, whose full name is Malcolm James McCormick, had battled with substance abuse for years, according to several reports. He was found at his home in San Fernando Valley earlier this year, and was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene.

She has remained respectful of the royal family and her daughter, unlike Meghan's father, Thomas Markle. Before extending the unprecedented invitation, the Queen likely considered the fact that Meghan Markle is pregnant for the first time and away from her mother, whereas Kate had access to her mother throughout her pregnancies.

According to PEOPLE, Markle will take part in activities, including exchanging gifts, holiday meals and even a game of soccer. And that includes Kate Middleton's parents, who have never been invited.

Also on Christmas Eve, William and Harry are usually on hand to play a charity soccer match on the estate, which is followed by dinner.

Meghan will attend not one but two church services on Christmas Day.
