As nearly everyone knows, Genie has been trapped inside the lamp for thousands of years, but once the street-rat-turned-phony-prince Aladdin rubs its side, Genie is finally free.
Wednesday's poster was initially revealed by Will Smith, who plays Genie in the movie, when he shared it across multiple social media accounts. It's a straight up teaser set to get your nostalgia tingling as you see an animated classic translated to "live-action" (I don't think there's a single shot in this trailer that isn't filled with CGI, which is fine, but it's live-action in the same way that Jon Favreau's The Jungle Book is live-action). While out in the land of the living, Genie helps Aladdin capture the attention (and later the heart) of Jasmine, the princess of Agrabah whose father, the Sultan, desperately wants to find her someone to marry.
The original Aladdin was released as an animated movie in 1992, starred Robin Williams as Genie and went on to take home two Oscars and earn $504 million at the worldwide box office. He's the biggest name attached here, with up-and-coming actor Mena Massoud in the lead role and Power Rangers' Naomi Scott playing Princess Jasmine.
