Liverpool and Manchester United are weighing up a cut-price January move for Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

Ramsey saw his latest contract offer withdrawn by Arsenal earlier this month, sparking speculation he'll leave this winter.

Emery has said that he does not expect the contractual situation of the squad's longest-serving player to affect Ramsey's performance levels.

The Serie A giants are depending on the South African's prior relationship with Ramsey in order to land the 27-year-old midfielder on a free transfer next summer.

Arsenal could receive a fee for Ramsey by selling him in January but the Wales global, who played in the 4-1 home defeat against Spain on Thursday, did not sound as though he was planning for a mid-season move.

He will not be departing during the January transfer window, as Sanchez did when linking up with Manchester United, but told reporters after representing his country in a friendly clash with Spain: "Would I stay for the rest of the season?"

The reason 'Ye chose to ditch the "again" is an acknowledgment to the fact that America still needs to put in some work. I don't agree with everything anyone does. "I'm just going to be honest and I may get in a lot of trouble for it".

The Welshman will be free to hold talks with clubs outside England in January and sign a pre-contract with a view to leaving Arsenal at the end of the season.

"Everything has been going great with the club", he said.

Ramsey has contributed one goal and three assists in eight Premier League outings this season.

On his contract, Ramsey added: "That's a decision that they have made - things happen in football and you just have to get on with it and carry on playing the best you can", he said.

The Wales worldwide, who scored a stunning back-heel effort in Arsenal's 5-1 win at Fulham on Sunday, has scored 59 goals in 338 appearances for Arsenal since joining from Cardiff in 2008.
