Below that, there's a depth-sensing 5-megapixel lens created to gather all the depth information needed to add an artificial bokeh blur to the background in Samsung's adjustable Live Focus feature.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 goes on sale next month in select markets. Or perhaps it just wanted to be the world's first four-camera smartphone. Let us know in the comments.

The highlight of course is the quad cameras on the back of the new Galaxy A9. At the front of the A9 is a huge 24 MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture.

Yep, the brand new Samsung Galaxy A9 is a mid-range phone that provides "more ways to express yourself than ever before", according to the South Korean company.

The primary camera is a 24MP offering which is the default option in auto mode, and the one which will give you best low light performance.

That's a lot of cameras for one device but it certainly does peak a lot of interest to see how they would exactly work in real life.

New Nokia smartphone will hit the market with megadoppler
The listing also reveals that the phone is running Android 8.1 Oreo, but a Pie update should be on its way soon after launch. And, in related news, alongside the Nokia 3.1 Plus, the Finnish company has also brought the Nokia 8110 4G to Indian buyers.

There are at least a few more tech specs and features worth mentioning.

There's an ultra wide eight-megapixel (MP) camera at the top.

You'd normally expect to see such a suite of snappers on Sammy's flagship Galaxy handsets, but the Galaxy S9 only has two rear cameras, as does the Note 9. Based on recent reports, it could be a Snapdragon 660 SoC. And just in case that's not enough, you can add on up to another 512GB via microSD card. A 3,800mAh battery powers the phone.

All in all, the camera hardware on the A9 (2018) is impressive. Do you think Samsung will be able to pull it off? Measuring 162.5x77x7.8mm, and weighing 183g, this isn't a phone for small hands, though it's still comfortable to hold. It will eventually be available in three unique colors; Caviar Black, Lemonade Blue and Bubblegum Pink so stay tuned for more updates regarding its pricing. There's also both NFC and Bluetooth 5.0 under the hood.

Inside, the Galaxy A9 is actually pretty good. It looks slick, and the substantial storage and AMOLED screen should soften the blow of paying £549 for a mid-range processor.
