What to expect from Google’s Pixel hardware event

Google's Third-Gen Chromecast Leaks Again In Updated Smart TV Kit

Google Pixel 3 XL leaks with a new retail packing, to be unveiled on October 9th

Reports suggests that the phone could come with IP68 certification for dust and water resistance. It will also have a larger (compared to Pixel 2) 5.5-inch display, but the extra tall aspect ratio will ensure the smartphone's fairly easy to use with one hand.

Pixel 3 XL will be slightly bigger than Pixel 3 with a resolution of 2960×1440 and comes in at 6.7-inches.

What's less expected is someone leaving an unreleased Pixel 3 XL in the back of a Lyft, a Ukrainian blogger posting a full-on unboxing video, and a third-party retailer listing the phone on its website before it's even announced.

As for everything else, it is widely expected that the Pixel 3 duo will be powered by a Snapdragon 845 chipset. Out of the box it came running Android 9.0 Pie, with Active Edge enabling gestures like squeezing the sides of the phone to perform actions. A new Chrome OS tablet called Pixel Slate could be showcased and double as a laptop. In terms of storage, both models will come in 64GB and 128GB variants without the possibility of expanding the storage. What about you? Let us know in the comments. However, the Google Pixel Slate is a fairly new addition to the Pixel lineup.

Trump calls Kavanaugh sexual assault claims a hoax
It followed weeks of controversy surrounding claims that he sexually assaulted women three decades ago, which he strongly denies. The fourth clerk, Sara Nommensen, is a former student of Kavanaugh's from Harvard Law School who previously worked at the U.S.

We don't know about the price just yet but it's expected to be somewhere around, or likely upwards of AUD $1079.

The Chromecast could also be getting an update since it's been several years since the last one.

Google's smartphones are targeted at the premium end of the market and have proved pretty popular among Australian consumers despite their high price tag. Additionally, Google might also integrate AI for better photography experience. The smart display will add to Google's current lineup of smart speakers that includes the Google Home Mini and Home Max.

We saw the Pixel Slate and its keyboard cover leak over the weekend, but as usual Evan has found something new and interesting with the Slate mounted in the keyboard cover. Google could refresh the design, make it smaller compared to the first iteration and improve the sound quality as well.
