But in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald we'll learn that she started as the Maledictus: the main attraction of a wizarding circus called Circus Arcanus, carrying a blood curse that makes her transform from a human into a snake.
So where she was just a force of pure evil before, The Crimes of Grindelwald is injecting some sympathy into this character whose beheading by Neville Longbottom we once cheered. After months of speculation, it was confirmed that the mysterious character played by South Korean actress Claudia Kim, is Nagini - as in the snake Voldemort turns into a Horcrux in the original Harry Potter series! In this, she's a wonderful and vulnerable woman who wants to live. No, Nagini is simply a blood thirsty snake, who kills on command of her master - RIP Snape - and was the last Horcrux Voldemort created to keep himself immortal before attempting to kill Harry as a baby. Nagini does have some measure of control over her transformation in the trailer; she may not know the scope of her condition or will experience physical consequences of transforming regularly.
You're going to want to watch to the end of this trailer, JK Rowling warned.

This is the tenth film overall in the Wizarding World franchise, and the second of five planned Fantastic Beasts stories.
