The streaming service's Sabrina the Teenage Witch reboot, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, supplemented its released images and teaser with its first full trailer today, sparking excitement for the show that got an automatic two-season order.
Based on this trailer, it also seems to be the beginning of Sabrina's struggle in trying to choose between the witch world and the human world with her friends and boyfriend, Harvey (Ross Lynch). In other words, don't expect this to be the same family-friendly series you've been reading for years, and definitely don't expect it to resemble the '90s sitcom starring Melissa Joan Hart.
We've seen the first few episodes already and we're not allowed to say much until the embargo lifts, but the look of the series, as you can tell from this teaser, makes it feel like the flawless Halloween-week binge.
The trailer begins with an eerie rendition of "Happy Birthday", interspersing shots of Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) living her normal life as a high school student along with her supernatural life as a witch.
Mac Miller's Death Scene: Disturbing Details Emerge
A vigil was held for him at Frick Park's Blue Slide Playground in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, according to Complex . Miller's battle with drug addiction and depression was well known - his rap lyrics usually involved the theme.
The show is looking no different, either. But I can't tell if they've kept the 1960s timeline or gone with a modern and retro hybrid, more akin to Riverdale.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is clearly not messing around.
We're all invited to Sabrina's spooky sweet 16, so be sure to mark your calendars.
The series marks the long-overdue return of Sabrina Spellman from the much-loved show "Sabrina the Teenage Witch", dropping on October 26 just in time for Halloween.
