Rain has been persistent for the last three days at the iconic, 2.5-mile, Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This almost became an issue in last year's Brickyard 400 after a one-hour, 47-minute rain delay took place during the race. The Xfinity Series race was originally scheduled for Saturday and it was washed out as well. Kyle Busch is on the pole for the Brickyard 400 with Kevin Harvick joining him on the front row. Saturday's schedule also got washed out moving the Lilly Diabetes 250 to Monday morning at 10 a.m. ET (NBCSN/NBC Sports App, IMS Radio Network, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

A competition caution will take place at lap 10 and lap 30 after no practice or qualifying took place.

When the 25 running of the Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard does commence, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. will serve as this year's honorary pace auto driver and lead the field to the green flag.
