Many are wondering just how Blackout will compete with similar experiences, so we got some Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 gameplay capture for you all to check out and discuss. "We are going to support Blackout for the long haul, and there's such a rich history with Black Ops that allows us to continuously update and evolve Blackout to keep it fun and fresh for the community".
Blackout beta is in full swing at the moment with PS4 players testing out Call of Duty's highly anticipated Battle Royale mode. It started at 10 AM Pacific / 1 Eastern this morning, and will last precisely one week, shutting off at 10 AM September 17.
For those who have preordered on Xbox One and PC, Blackout access will arrive September 14, and regardless of preorder status, all interested PC players can join the next day. Players who've already downloaded the multiplayer beta, or who have pre-ordered the full game, can access the Blackout beta via the email invite that Treyarch sent out. The company took to Reddit recently to discuss these changes coming to the Black Ops 4 battle royale mode and at the top of their list is a change in item pickup speed, which has been noticeably slow, and where players have to be pretty much right over an item in order to pick it up. This year's Call of Duty is expected to breathe new life into the game by adding a Battle Royale mode that no shooter can be without these days. You can watch GameSpot's victorious Blackout round in the video embed above. The result? That Blackout's map will come in under the size of Fortnite's map.

According to expert Call of Duty YouTube broadcaster Drift0r, the Blackout map should fall somewhere between 4.5km2 and 7.4km2. It's a survival game with "the most refined mechanics in the world". As you'd expect, players are piloted over the map in a helicopter and opt to drop down at any given time, quickly scrounging the environment for weapons, armor, positioning and fellow combatants.
