Villarreal unveiled Santi Cazorla at Estadio de la Ceramica stadium

Villarreal FC enlisted the help of a magician to unveil their new player signing, Santi Cazorla.

The 33-year-old is then let out of his case to a rapturous applause by the waiting Villarreal public who are delighted to have one of their own back at the club.

Cazorla signed with Villarreal after a successful trial with the club following long-term ankle problems.

"All the suffering has been worth it for this moment alone", said Cazorla, speaking after being magically beamed into a glass box at his presentation at the Estadio de la Ceramica.

Washington braces for white nationalists a year after Charlottesville clashes
The violence culminated with a man driving a vehicle into a crowd of counter-protesters, killing Heyer and injuring 19 people. On Saturday, Trump wrote on Twitter that the "riots" in Charlottesville "resulted in senseless death and division".

The ceremony was simultaneously brilliant and massively ridiculous - which we assume is exactly the effect Villarreal were going for.

The illusionist filled a human-sized glass cylinder with smoke and went on to do hand gestures.

However, a bloke in a waistcoat works his magic and before you know it the smoke fades and Cazorla becomes visible. Despite serious illness, the London "Arsenal", which Santi has performed with 2012, extended his contract expired in the summer of 2018, and "Villarreal", the Spaniard has already moved on as a free agent. "I'm grateful to Villarreal, not just for how they opened the doors to me when I was 18, but for their unconditional support through hard moments and for re-opening the doors to me [now]". "It's a club that for me is an example and that always does things well despite the difficulties", Cazorla added.
