Roger Stone associate held in contempt in Russian Federation probe

Stone I wouldn't testify against Trump

Roger Stone Associate Reportedly Held in Contempt of Court for Refusal to Testify for Mueller Grand Jury

A former aide to Roger Stone, a longtime adviser to President Donald Trump, has been found in contempt of court by a federal judge for refusing to testify before a grand jury hearing evidence in the investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

An associate of Stone's, Andrew Miller, was supposed to testify before the grand jury but failed to appear and was held in contempt.

For procedural reasons, Kamenar said, Miller needed to be held in contempt in order to initiate the appeal.

Kamenar asserted that Mueller has vastly more authority than any US attorney, including the ability to indict foreign actors and bring cases in more than one jurisdiction. A former US senator, Sessions was one of Trump's earliest Senate backers and was involved in campaign operations.

Mueller's outreach may mean he is focusing in part on whether Stone may have had advance knowledge of material detrimental to Trump's 2016 Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton that USA intelligence agencies have concluded was obtained by Russian Federation through hacking.

The latest witnesses in Mueller's probe appear to suggest it is focusing at least in part on Stone, an early Trump backer with a reputation as an aggressive political operative.

Jimmy Anderson fireworks help England thrash India in Second Test
England had looked like wasting an inspired bowling performance that dismissed India so cheaply on a rain-interrupted second day. He walked off unbeaten on 120*, his efforts (and those of Jonny Bairstow, who made 93) have given England a 250 run lead.

Stone, through his attorney, has acknowledged having a "24-word exchange with someone on Twitter claiming to be Guccifer 2.0".

Miller's lawyer in June said he would seek to quash the subpoena.

However, Howell stayed the contempt ruling until Monday, giving Miller's legal team an opportunity to appeal the ruling that ordered his grand jury appearance to the District of Columbia Circuit Court of Appeals.

Miller worked for Stone during Trump's campaign. "I am the Godfather to her 2 year old son". Davis pleaded guilty to promoting prostitution, and spent about four months in New York's Rikers Island prison complex.

In a related development, another Stone associate, comedian and talk show host Randy Credico confirmed that he had been subpoenaed by the special counsel's office, which is probing alleged Russian interference in the 2016 USA presidential election. Despite this, prosecutors told the court Friday, Miller has still refused to show up. Manafort, who is on now on trial in federal court in Virginia for alleged financial crimes, lost each time.
