Samsung said the Note 9 will be the first Android phone to support Fortnite, a hugely popular video-and-smartphone survival game that was only playable on computers, consoles and Apple products until now. Both offer microSD slots, allowing users to expand the Note 9's onboard storage up to 1TB. This does make the Note 9 more unwieldy than smaller phones, but the tradeoff may be worth it for some users. The Note was the first modern enthusiast's smartphone, and it attracted a fiercely loyal buyer who, to put it bluntly, thought big-ass phones were awesome and that iPhones couldn't possibly meet a power user's needs. The Note now has a massive 4000mAh battery, a full 700mAh increase over the previous generation. The fingerprint reader has moved so it is now positioned beneath the rear camera, there are 6GB and 8GB models to choose from, and the smartphone will be powered by either an Exynos 9810 CPU or a Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 depending on where you are in the world.
But in reality, sticking a memory card in the base model for £75 / $100 would give you more than enough space and it's hard to see why you'd need the extra RAM in most cases... so that's a premium that many won't need to pay. But the highlights will be a bigger battery, a faster processor and improved cellular speeds.
Samsung launched the Note 9 at 11 a.m.in NY on Thursday, or Friday midnight in Seoul.
Everything else about the Note9 is either iterative or simply a given.
President Erdogan: US has dollars, 'we have our God'
We are working hard. "We will not lose the economic war", Erdoğan said, calling on Turks to support their struggling currency. Furthermore, the bank sees hope in other recent crises, like the attempted coup in 2016.
That's pretty much it though - as the camera uses the same tech as in the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus, the stereo speakers aren't new, and the S Pen is locked to the Note series, so the upgrades there aren't going to make much difference to the S10. It has wireless charging, IP68 water and dust resistance, a headphone jack.no notch, a great stylus, and so much more.
You might love the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 wallpapers, but aren't ready to spend $1,000 to experience them. There's no question about which Samsung phone you buy if you want the best Samsung phone. And that's not at all to say the Note is only for Samsung fans.
In a thinly veiled stab at major competitor Apple, Samsung Electronics Australia mobile division vice-president Garry McGregor said the new feature was something rival gadgets had yet to match. Size aside, for anyone who is considering a new phone right now, the Note9 nearly has to enter the conversation - how can it not?
Here, we'd expect to laud the Note 9 as a harbinger: it usually provides clues for the future of the Galaxy S series. After all, aside from the S Pen, the only real differences are dimensional. They aren't expected to really dive into that until their Samsung Developer Conference in November.
