The Xiaomi Mi 8 might arrive with more RAM, but all the other specs remain the same - 6.21 tall screen with a notch, Snapdragon 845 and dual 12 MP+12MP cameras on the back.
Chinese handset maker Xiaomi on Wednesday expanded its smartphone line-up with the launch of Mi A2 smartphone, its latest Android One-powered device, in the country. Under the hood, it runs the Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC which comes accompanied by Adreno 512 GPU for graphics. Internationally, Mi A2 was launched in three colours - gold, blue and black and hopefully Xiaomi will be launching the same colors in India as well.
As far as specifications go, the Xiaomi Mi A2 flaunts a 5.99-inch display with FHD+ resolution, and 18:9 aspect ratio. The Mi A2 is expected to come in a single 4GB RAM and 64GB storage option. Both the sensors have an f/1.75 aperture. The front camera has also improved from 5MP with f/2 aperture to 20MP with f/2.2 aperture.
In terms of software, the phone runs stock Android, rather than the MIUI ROM which runs atop other Xiaomi phones. It supports Quick Charge 4+ standard, but you'll have to buy a supported charger separately.
Wild Boars Granted Thai Citizenship
Many stateless people in Thailand come from areas where national borders have changed, leaving their nationality in question. All four had previously been stateless, but had applied for Thai citizenship before they became trapped in the cave.
- The Mi A2 looks a lot like the Redmi Note 5 Pro and the Mi A1 had a baby. The camera on the back side comes equipped with dual-tone LED flash and PDAF. It is protected by 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 5. The Mi A2 features considerable improvements in design and camera over the outgoing device.
- Although the Xiaomi Mi A2 runs a near 100 per cent version of stock Android like a Pixel phone, the phone also ships with the a few Xiaomi apps like the Mi Feedback and Mi Remote apps. While there are different storage options to choose from, unfortunately there is no microSD card slot to expand the memory.
Mi A2 packs a 3,010mAh battery and will support Qualcomm's QuickCharge 4.0 in India. But there's also a catch.
According to an Amazon India pre-order listing, the Mi A2's 4GB+64GB variant will retail for Rs 17,499 in India, but most likely, the device could be priced at Rs 16,999 or Rs 17,999. This is for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant.
