Zsa Zsa, the English Bulldog whose long, floppy tongue and protruding underbite earned her the title of 2018's "World's Ugliest Dog" last month, died on Tuesday, her owner says.

"Looks are deceiving, some thought she looked scary, but she was the most gentle dog", said Larson.

Zsa Zsa went from enduring years living in a puppy mill to being adopted by a family and finally to winning fame and fans.

The dog mum said she named Zsa Zsa after the Hungarian actress Zsa Zsa Gabor, as the pup enjoyed lounging on the couch "like a handsome model". "We were all saying our goodbyes". "It was sweet. She was waving at her".

Zsa Zsa's winnings included a trophy and $1,500 - a cash amount that was also given to Underdog Rescue, the group that rescued her. Zsa Zsa had a hard life, the report stated.
