Meanwhile, Diaz also had problems with Cormier for engaging in the melee with Lesnar while also criticizing the new heavyweight champion for his performance against Anderson Silva at UFC 200 back in 2016. Mike Johnson from PWInsider reported that we might not see Lesnar for a while so a SummerSlam match is not guaranteed.

The rumors and speculation have all said that Lesnar would put his title on the line at SummerSlam and that it would likely be his last match in WWE.

This could end up being Lesnar's final WWE bout as he transitions into training for a UFC heavyweight title fight against Daniel Cormier, likely in January.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that there is a lot of maneuvering going on regarding what is next for Brock Lesnar and the Universal Championship. The original plan had a multi-man match at Extreme Rules with the victor becoming the No. 1 contender for the Universal Title, but that was scrapped. The Monday after Lesnar's UFC run-in, he was nowhere to be found on Monday Night Raw, and not only was he not on the bill but his name wasn't even mentioned. It's clear there wasn't a lesson learned from that by WWE and they'll continue trying to go to the "loyalty" card to get fans on Roman's side, which seems like a futile effort at this point.

According to Wrestling Inc.

McMahon hopes fans will think that Brock Lesnar has turned his back on WWE and that it will be up to Roman Reigns to save the day.

Over the next couple of weeks as WWE sets itself up for SummerSlam and beyond, the Universal Championship picture could change for the first time in over a year. The hints were confirmed when UFC President Dana White was affirmative to the fact that DC will indeed face the current WWE Universal Champion Lesnar next for the Heavyweight strap.
