The drama of the arrest continued for four hours during which the NAB team remained unable to take him into custody as police contingents acted as silent spectators.

A NAB official said taking both the convicts to Islamabad from the Lahore airport by road may require "elaborate security arrangements".

The British chapter of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) condemned the attack and said there was no truth in the accusation that the party's workers were behind the incident. She said they're returning home for democracy.
