Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois admitted that he wants a return to Madrid because of his children but he will decide his future after the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russian Federation.

The goalkeeper is now representing Belgium at the World Cup as the Red Devils' No 1 in Russian Federation.

When asked about his future following Belgium's last-gasp win over Japan on Monday night, he told the Spanish media, "Returning to Madrid?"

The Blues shot stopper is facing an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge with less than 12 months remaining on his current deal.

The report claims that Chelsea would want close to £50m for the 26-year-old Courtois and also believe that they have a real chance of landing Alisson.

And in another interview, the Belgian declared on his future: "I'm not going to talk about that now".

His wife, Amal , rushed to her husband's side at the hospital, and left with the superstar after his injuries were deemed minor. The accident took place near the beach resort of Costa Corallina, local Tgr Rai Sardegna channel wrote on Twitter .

Unsurprisingly Chelsea have in the last week or so been linked with goalkeepers such as Alisson at Roma and Kasper Schmeichel at Leicester City. Real Madrid are hot on the trail of Courtois, with Paris Saint Germain looking set to land Italian legend Gianluigi Buffon.

He also dropped another nod to his time in Madrid - albeit at Atletico rather than Real, to whom he is now being linked - saying: "I have learned to suffer at Atlético, it is what it has been for us today, Japan are a good team, tactically they have been very good, suddenly you look at 2-0, we have believed a lot".

"I have some ideas in my mind, but I'm focusing on the World Cup and have pushed all decisions ahead until after the tournament".

'The most important thing is my children and I'll decide what's best for me in everything'.

He has made 154 appearances in all competitions since then, keeping 49 clean sheets in 126 Premier League appearances and winning two titles as well as the FA Cup and the League Cup.
