The coaches' statement came from Russ Hellickson, the former head wrestling coach who was Jordan's boss, and five former assistant coaches: Dave Ruckman, Rex Holman, Ken Chertow, Miron Kharchilava and Kenny Ramsey Jr.

The complaint calls or the Office of Congressional Ethics to conduct a preliminary inquiry into whether Jordan lied about this, and-if so-if this violated the House Rules.

Several former wrestlers have said in recent days that Jordan had to have known of the abuse, based on numerous group conversations at the time.

"The well-being of student-athletes was all of our concern", the statement continued.

In April, the university announced that an investigation of Strauss had been opened after it learned of allegations of sexual misconduct.

The show of support is the latest development in the unfolding controversy, which centers on allegations that team doctor Richard Strauss groped wrestlers during appointments and ogled them in the locker room and showers in since-demolished Larkins Hall.
