There will be plenty of exciting attacking talent on show when France face Belgium, which should make for an eventful encounter. It is fair to say France has not thrilled other than in its defeat of Argentina.

Talking to beIN Sports France ahead of Tuesday's World Cup semifinal clash between the two in Saint Petersburg, the Chelsea star spoke about the Paris Saint-Germain forward in glowing terms.

France, world champions in 1998, are slight favourites to go through according to most bookmakers, but Belgium tend to step up their game against these particular European rivals, if history is anything to go by. If he can punch any holes in a backline that hasn't looked particularly solid this summer - they did concede three times to a disjointed Argentina - then France could ultimately struggle in their bid to win the World Cup for the second time.

"At the time, there wasn't the jersey of Belgium, that's why we wore the one of France".

Without further ado, here is our guide to the World Cup semi-finals.

"Our last three games were different because we played teams with a defensive approach", he said.

Since coming aboard, Henry has had a big influence on the Belgian team and seen them go unbeaten and score 78 goals in their last 23 games.

Lloris has been criticized during the past year after errors for France and Tottenham.

Turkey's New Era: Turkish President Erdogan takes oath of office
The only European Union leaders are set to be Bulgarian President Rumen Radev and Hungary's strongman Prime Minister Viktor Orban. Erdogan and the media: Do most Turks even care? The new government faces immediate economic challenges.

Belgium has height and heading ability in defenders Vincent Kompany and Jan Vertonghen and Marouane Fellaini.

Hazard has arguably been the outstanding player of the tournament and pulled Brazil and their right back Fagner around the field in their quarter-final. "The best is Hugo".

Meunier is suspended after tripping Brazil star Neymar and earning a second yellow card of the tournament. Hence, Brazil couldn't handle the change of style of counter attack and their change of formation to 5-3-2 while defending.

Belgium also possess great creativity and invention in the form of Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne. Because of his quick feet, change of direction and exquisite close control, he is hard to tackle and this often draws a foul.

"I try to create gaps for my teammates", Giroud said. Martinez confided he doesn't think he's "able to describe what this means for the country" but promised his team's full focus is on France. They are tied on fourth overall with 31. Much was made of Roberto Martinez's decision to start Romelu Lukaku from the right and Kevin De Bruyne through the middle in Belgium's 2-1 win over Brazil, not to mention Thibaut Courtois' exceptional goalkeeping outing, yet the tactical decision and the display between the sticks overshadowed a stunning outing from skipper Eden Hazard.

Lukaku led the counter-attack which led to Belgium's second goal against Brazil in the quarter-final and also set up their victor against Japan in the second round with an astute, unselfish dummy.

But France also have the ghost of previous high-profile failures behind them, specifically the Euro 2016 final that they should in theory have strolled against Portugal only to choke on home turf. Not only that, but if Hazard can captain the Red Devils to victory, there's no reason why the Belgium skipper can't be named the tournament's best player upon its culmination next week. He awarded France a penalty kick after a video review of a tackle from behind by Joshua Risdon on Antoine Griezmann, who converted for a 1-0 lead.
