Wilshere has spoken to The Sportsman before of his childhood love for West Ham and his retaining a soft spot for the East London club despite his extensive tenure of nearly 20 years at Arsenal, having joined their academy in 2001.
'It feels good, it feels special, ' Wilshere told the club's website.
Wilshere will arrive on a three-year deal and has picked West Ham over Fenerbahce. However, the club suits him down to the ground and he should settle in quickly, assuming he avoids injury.
'Many people know that I've had a special bond with this club growing up.
Wilshere stays in the London area, and will fly out to Switzerland to link up with Manuel Pellegrini's squad at their pre-season training camp.
