In its June 15, 28 and 28 outbreak statements the CDC reported the victims were "people who reportedly consumed" pre-packaged Del Monte Fresh Produce vegetable trays containing broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and dill dip. The recalled products were sold in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin, but so far only consumers in four states - Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin - have reported coming down with the cyclosporiasis infection.
People who got illness range from ages 13 to 79 years old.
An update from the Food and Drug Administration on July 5 reported the agency has not yet determined which item (s) on the Del Monte vegetable and dip trays is the source of the Cyclospora parasites. "The two cases from MI reportedly purchased the vegetable tray in Wisconsin and therefore MI is not impacted from this outbreak", said the FDA.
The FDA is now investigating the outbreak of cyclosporiasis, related to the Del Monte products.

These symptoms may not necessarily persist the entire time a person remains infected with cyclosporiasis, and may seem to go away and then return one or more times, as a patient may relapse.
The outbreak of cyclosporiasis, an intestinal infection caused by the cyclospora parasite, was first tracked by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in mid-June, after 78 people were reported ill across the region.
Del Monte has recalled a number of vegetable trays in the last month, including the 6-, 12- and 28-ounce trays. The recalled products, which affected people in Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin as of Thursday, have a "Best If Enjoyed By" date of June 17, 2018.
The recalled products were sold in clear, plastic clamshell containers.
