E3 2018: Rick and Morty Creators Reveal Trover Saves the Universe Game

Rick and Morty's creators have revealed a brand new game, with Trover Saves the Universe boasting the animated series' trademark off-the-wall sense of humor, minus its cast of characters. The game was announced at PlayStation's E3 2018 Showcase, and it's an action-platformer in a delightfully vibrant and utterly weird world.

The trailer immediately gives off a Rick and Morty vibe thanks to the voices. It will launch in early 2019. As Trover, you need to save the universe and rescue your dogs from some guy who... kidnapped them and stuffed them in his eyeholes?

Trover Saves the Universe is now in development for PlayStation VR and releasing sometime in early 2019.

The game's official website has a short description: "Wonderful". The game itself looks to be a fairly simple platforming affair, with the comic styles of Roiland playing a considerable role throughout the experience. And while no concrete release date was announced, it could possibly be a PS4 and PS VR exclusive as it was shown off exclusively at Sony's event.

Roiland's Squanch Games, who previously released Accounting+, are leading development on the game.
