The decade-long franchise-building exercise of MCU has reaped box-office wonders for the studio through the most ambitious superhero crossover film Infinity War - which has powered the franchise's cumulative grosses to $16.85 billion from 19 movies.

Of Infinity War's current $2.002 billion total, $656 million comes from the United States, making it the fifth-biggest domestic film of all time.

2019 will also see the release of Captain Marvel and a sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming and both films are expected to make close to $1 billion worldwide, according to a Forbes report.
