During its E3 2018 presentation, Bethesda Softworks had a very notable (and very hilarious) video for what it called Skyrim: Very Special Edition, which showcased an Alexa version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on the popular home device, starring comedian and actor Keegan Michael-Key of Key & Peele fame. Amazon Alexa owners have since realized the game does exist and can be played right now on the device. Skyrim: Very Special Edition is basically a choose your own adventure game set in Skyrim.
Tap the Alexa icon - on the iOS app this is in the top right corner of the screen, below the shopping cart and next to the camera icon. On Android, it is found near the bottom of the screen.
Gears of War' is getting its own PC-only tactics game
Gears 5 will revolve around Kait Diaz (Laura Bailey) and will be available in 2019 for Xbox One , Windows 10 and Xbox Game Pass. Despite that, the moment was still incredibly special and the extended trailer gives Gears fans a ton to dig into and analyze.
While playing Skyrim on any Echo or other Alexa-embedded devices you'll get to fight dragons, shout... err... shouts, "guard your knees against arrows", and "other epic things". And yes, some people love it so much they'll pretend that's what it is. As soon as you say "Alexa Play Skyrim" she'll give you a few quick stats about your player level and then will launch into a brief story scenario, which offers you two or three ways in which you can respond. But better yet, it gave us the joke of E3 by owning how insane things had become. Skills like Magicka level up as you use their associated abilities, but the game doesn't make a distinction between the different forms of magic like Destruction, Restoration, or adjustment. (Damn it.) But it's sure to be a hoot for those of you that want to see how it is.
"Bethesda Game Studios is proud to present Skyrim. for Alexa".
