Stormy Daniels Files Lawsuit Against Her Former Attorney AP

Stormy Daniels' former attorney, Keith Davidson, is fighting back, filing counterclaims Thursday against his former client and her new attorney for defamation and accusing Donald Trump's personal attorney, Michael Cohen, of recording their phone conversations without his permission.

NBC host Megan Kelly on Thursday defended porn star Stormy Daniels after President Donald Trump's lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, slammed her as a "con artist" and "un-credible" because of her profession. The former New York City mayor-turned-presidential counsel made the claim during a conference in Israel. After several texts from Cohen urging Davidson to call him, Cohen texts that the "wise men"-which the lawsuit claims includes Trump-think the story is dying, and Clifford should not do the interview".

On Wednesday, the adult-film star and director announced on social media that she is launching a perfume/cologne called "Truth" with sex-centric retailer It's the Bomb. Response: "I don't believe Mrs. Trump has ever discussed her thoughts on anything with Mr. Giuliani".

The alleged dealings hurt Daniels, even though Davidson was obligated to hold loyalty to his client, and instead benefitted Cohen and Trump.

"The one cause I answered it was to, I feel, say what the overwhelming majority of Individuals would say to any individual engaged within the type of conduct she's been engaged in - which is in search of cash".

The former GOP mayor of NY also attacked Daniels, an adult film actress who alleges she had an affair with Trump more than a decade ago, personally and denied that sex workers had credibility.

Avenatti said the allegations in the countersuit were "frivolous claims".

It's up for debate how sound the recording allegation is, since Cohen was based in NY, where you can legally tape calls with just one party's consent. "I'm trying to get her to commit for tomorrow".

Giuliani's comments may be part of a wider political strategy to discredit Daniels' lawsuit against Trump, but they're extremely risky for a population of women already fighting to be respected.

But one person familiar with Cohen's thinking told CNN the text messages cited in the lawsuit represented discussions between two lawyers who wanted to ensure that the nondisclosure agreement Daniels signed was being adhered to.

"I certainly hope that we are not going to reach a place where Rudy Giuliani is going to be the police who is going to decide which women deserve respect or not".
