Kingdom Hearts 3 Has a Frozen Level

Game director Tetsuya Nomura announced at a Kingdom Hearts orchestra concert in Los Angeles on Saturday that Square Enix will release Kingdom Hearts III on January 29, 2019 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Kingdom Hearts III was first announced at the 2013 E3 Expo - yes, it was that long ago. It's based on Disney's hit animated film Frozen. Nomura apologized for this slight delay, telling fans "I'm sorry that we're asking for a little more time than initially planned".

We also saw Wreck it Ralph, Tangled, Monsters, Inc. and Hercules world content.

The last time we saw a proper game in the Halo series was with the fifth game, Guardians , about three years ago. We know it'll be developed by 343 Industries, and it'll apparently use a new engine called "Slipspace".

Kingdom Hearts 3 was shown off at the Microsoft E3 2018 briefing and it looks. incredible. Further gameplay details remain scarce roughly six months out from the game's official release, but stay tuned to Engadget for more information as soon as it becomes available.

Kingdom Hearts is due for release before the end of 2018, which is neat to know given that we seem to have been waiting for the game for roughly a decade. It has sold over 24 million games since the original launched in 2002.
