Kate Spade Dead At 55

Fashion designer Kate Spade found dead, police say

Kate Spade had no alcohol, business or substance abuse problems, he said.

The fashion icon and designer was found "unconscious and unresponsive" yesterday in her New York City apartment at the age of 55. Dr. Jeffrey Lieberman, chairman of psychiatry at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons, joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss the warning signs and risk factors for suicide. "We were co-parenting our attractive daughter", he stressed.

Spade, born Katherine Noel Brosnahan, was best known for her namesake brand of high-end modern handbags that grew to incorporate other womenswear. "We should all remember the beauty and joy that Kate brought to this world".

"Kate loved Bea so very much". "My daughter and I are devastated by her loss, and can't even begin to fathom life without her". "We ate many meals together as a family and continued to vacation together as a family".

Andy Spade, the brother of comedian David Spade, said she "sounded happy" the night before her suicide.

Spade's husband, Andy Spade, also issued a statement contradicting several claims made by Saffo, including that that she did not seek treatment for her mental illnesses, while paying tribute to his "best friend for 35 years".

The women got their matches done before rain arrived at Roland Garros , leaving the men's quarterfinals suspended in progress. It's a great semi-finals. "It's not that important, because it's constantly this thing going on", said Muguruza.

The despondent 55-year-old fashion designer did not want her 24-year marriage to Andrew to end, TMZ reported, citing law enforcement sources. "Bea was living with both of us and we saw each other or spoke every day. We loved each other very much and simply needed a break", Andy Spade added.

Together, Andy and Kate founded the Kate Spade brand, which rose to prominence in the '90s with its vibrant line of handbags.

Asked why she wanted to get back into the industry, the Spades told Business of Fashion that they thought it would be good for their daughter "to see her mother work".

Spade's 13-year-old daughter, Frances Beatrix, was not at home when the death occurred, police say.

"For people who think they know, you'll never know", she said through tears. The husband-and-wife duo parted ways with their successful company in 2007, after selling to Liz Claiborne Inc.

Frances Valentine, with which she was involved until her death, focuses exclusively on shoes and handbags.
