Dutch Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander will travel to Buenos Aires for the funeral of the queen's younger sister, Ines Zorreguieta, the royal palace in The Hague says.
Zorreguieta and the Queen had a close relationship, as Zorreguieta was a bridesmaid at her older sister's 2002 wedding to then Dutch Crown Prince Willem-Alexander.
Queen Maxima of Holland's youngest sister, Inés Zorreguieta, was found dead in Argentina in an apparent suicide, local media reported. Zorreguieta worked as a civil servant in Buenos Aires and was a guitarist.
It now appears that she had struggled for a long time with thoughts of suicide.
Putin says he warned Europe about United States trade threat, nobody listened
During his four hour-plus Q & A in Moscow on Thursday, Putin was asked which world leaders he addresses using the informal version of you - "ty" - as opposed to the formal 'vy'.
Maxima, 47, who's originally from Argentina, was quoted in a statement by the royal household as "very shocked and sad". I wish them all the strength necessary to carry this terrible loss together. Zorreguieta was also godmother to the couple's third child, her 11-year-old niece Princess Ariane of the Netherlands. She has since canceled her forthcoming engagements including a state visit to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania next week.
Máxima said in a reaction that she is "very shocked and very upset" by the news, the RVD said.
Between 2009 and 2011 she worked at the United Nations headquarters of Panama but returned to Argentina in 2012 after a breakup.
Zorreguieta died late on Wednesday, aged 33, a palace spokeswoman announced earlier.
