De Bruyne: Maybe Guardiola thought Toure wasn't fit enough

Yaya Toure Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiola will never win Champions League again because African shamans won't allow it, says Yaya Toure's agent

Toure who has worked with Guardiola at both Barcelona and Manchester City has had a love hate relationship with him and finally let the cat out of the bag in an interview with France Football with a headline "I want to be the one who breaks the myth Guardiola".

Toure, 35, played his final game for City against Brighton & Hove Albion in May and departed the club as a three-time Premier League victor.

Toure would be willing to play for just ONE English pound per week!

"Yaya has many offers from different countries, where they are ready to pay a lot of money, but we chose to dedicate the next season to Guardiola", the agent said. He has set all of Africa against him, many African fans have turned away from Manchester City.

Unai Emery has a lot of work to do, if he is to build a squad of players at Arsenal who are capable of finishing inside the Champions League places next season.

"I won't comment on Toure's words", he said bluntly.

"I have tried to understand - I politely asked the fitness staff for my statistics and when I discovered that they were as good, sometimes even better, across training session and matches, than those who were playing and younger than me, I understood that this was not a physical question", Toure said.

Fresh from winning the Premier League title with the Citizens, Guardiola was relaxing at a golf tournament at Caldes de Malavella in Girona. In two years he has won the same as Roberto Mancini or Pellegrini.

"Yaya has always played with a 42 number on his back".

Toure started 22 league games under Guardiola in the 2016-17 season, and says he was asked to stay for another year, but then used sparingly. "At Barcelona I know that some also asked questions".

This week has seen Pep Guardiola branded as a racist in a sensational interview given by Yaya Toure. But the day he picks a team with five Africans in it, I promise I will send him a cake!

Toure complained that Guardiola "did everything to ruin my last season" and to prevent him enjoying the sort of farewell fanfare that Andres Iniesta received this season at Barcelona and Gianluigi Buffon did at Juventus. Manchester City just renewed his contract for three years.

"This will be for Guardiola an African curse".
